Urban legends are something that I truly love. Give me all the stories of the Jersey Devil or Bloody Mary. I love them all so much. There is so much history behind urban legends. I love how the stories change from one generation to another. The details are small but they can change the entire story.
Synopsis: A girl loses her sister and goes on an adventure with her friends to find her.
What I liked: Marshall was very clever in how she put this book together. It consisted of interviews and text messages between the story telling. It was a very clever use of different types of story telling. Personally, I feel like these little bits of behind the scenes information really was fantastic. It helped you piece the story together and allows the story to draw out. It doesn’t ever overrule the story. But it enhances it.
What I didn’t like: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like
Star Rating: 4.5 Stars
My thoughts: Due to the ending of the story I am wondering if there is going to be another book. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. I want to know everything LOL. But it reads really well as a stand alone book as well….if there is no sequel it still is a great YA read. I can’t wait to see what else Marshall comes up with and if she uses the same format.
