There are times when you put a book down and you want to know what the characters do after the story ends. Wilder Girls is one of those stories. As soon as I finished I sent a message to Jen who recommended it and said “I want to know what happens to the girls.” For me that really tells me how I felt about a story. The need to know what happens after the end of the story. In my mind I have an idea of what has happened to the characters
Synopsis: Girls at a remote school become infected with something.
What I liked: The story kept moving. It really kept me wanting to read more about what was going on. The pacing was perfect. There was a change in the story that I wasn’t expecting and I really enjoyed. It opened the world up a bit more than what was seen through the beginning of the story. The characters where well rounded. There are bits and pieces of each character which are likable and not likable that makes them very realistic. I really enjoyed the body horror aspects and the things that surrounded the body horror as I can totally see how that plays into story.
What I didn’t like: I wanted more in the ending. I wanted to know the characters where safe or not safe.
Star Rating: 5 Stars
My Thoughts: There is a lot of thoughts surrounding this story. The changing that the girls go through. The revelations through out the story. The struggle that the characters go through are palpable. You struggle along with them. You also think about what would happen if this story were to actually happen what would the response be. How these changes that characters are going through can be linked to other changes that happened at the time. I really enjoyed this story so very much. I can’t want to see what else Power releases.
